A surgically trained podiatrist, Dr. Troxell is experienced in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery. He treats everything from ingrown toenails and skin lesions to complex fractures and reconstructive surgery. He provides conservative and surgical treatments for all foot and ankle ailments.
Giving each patient his focused attention, Dr. Troxell develops individualized care plans and prides himself on treating his patients like family. He offers both conservative and surgical management to the lower extremity. He specializes in bunions, arthroscopy, trauma, Charcot, total ankle arthroplasty, minimally invasive surgery, complex reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle, and sports medicine.
Dr. Troxell is the fellowship director of the St. Petersburg Innovative Foot & Ankle Surgery Fellowship. He enjoys teaching and training the next generation of foot and ankle surgeons. He is also involved with research and development as it pertains to surgical techniques and devices to advance the field of foot and ankle surgery and produce better outcomes for patients.
Attending the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Troxell received his Bachelor of Sciences degree. Here and during the time to follow, he participated in research at the medical school in the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism, studying Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus, as well as co-authored several publications at this time.
Dr. Troxell earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine where he graduated with honors as part of the Pi Delta National Podiatry Honor Society. He then went on to perform his residency in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery at Norton Audubon Hospital where he served as Chief Resident.
Outside of his passion for medicine, Dr. Troxell enjoys spending time with his family, wife Katherine, son Theodore, and daughter Tatum.
